Worm heat exchanger

AMF - Bruns supplies single and dual-shaft worm heat exchangers (SWT) in various trough models as cooling or heating worms.

In addition to that, we supply dual-shaft exchangers in diverse versions for different applications.

Our systems ensure continuous operation in process engineering. They are used for pressure, vacuum and high temperature applications, for cooling/heating of materials that are scarcely flowing, corrosive and abrasive. Some special functions such as mixing, sealing, aeration, agglomeration and metering are also possible.

Cooling and heating are carried out individually or combined with trough, cover or worm shaft. Water, vapor, thermal oil, gas or electrical heating mats are used as heat transfer medium. Our worm heat exchangers operate with a high filling factor of up to 90 percent.

Heat exchange surfaces, auger blades, tubular shafts as well as cooling and heating coils provide optimum heat exchange. At the same time heating/cooling circulation is enhanced.

The SWT recirculation cooling worm has a particularly high heat-exchange power and can be also used for discontinuous operation.

Dual-shaft, self-cleaning worm heat exchangers are used for caking or moist materials, such as pastes or slurries. They have cooled auger blades and dual-shell trough.
